A handwoven cotton Turkmen kilim, possible a tent furnishing. This rug features a repeating geometric pattern in a bright palettes of indigo blue, pink, orange, deep brown and white. It has an ‘s’ hook pattern throughout the field and kochak ram’s horn medallions in panels to either end. The selvedge has a layered overcast edge and the ends are finished in a braided panel with dark steel grey tied and bound tassel ends, possibly for fixing to or within a tent. Unmarked.
